Studies in several countries show clear evidence: the possibility of infection in enclosed areas is nineteen times higher than the possibility of outdoor contamination, according to a Japanese study.
A Chinese study has looked at the outbreak of 318 viruses registered outside Hubei Province and concluded that none of them were produced outdoors. Most accidents have occurred in homes or public transport. However, there are also cases of contagion in shops, and at least in Txikia, the highest figures have been due to such a case.
Àlex Soriano, head of the infectious diseases departments of the Hospital Clínic of Catalonia, has stated that this data is not a coincidence. “In the enclosed spaces, people have more contacts and more time and it’s easier to get infected with this situation than when the virus spreads in the air,” said La Vanguardia.
Regarding this argument, Benito Almirante, head of the same section of the Vall d´Hebron Hospital, has pointed out that the new fall outbreaks will have to do with closed and open spaces. In fact, in summer, people are more likely to walk in the street. In the fall, coinciding with the return to the closed places, the contagion may increase.
