Five Catalan political prisoners will be re-imprisoned following the recourse of the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office

As announced, the Prosecutor ' s Office of the Supreme Court has appealed against the third class of Catalan political prisoners. In it, he has called for the ranking of independence leaders in the second grade, according to Merkel. Accordingly, the Prison Surveillance Court has revoked the partial release of Oriol Junqueras, Raül Romeva, Joaquim Forn, Jordi Sánchez and Jordi Cuixart, all of whom were charged in the case.
The decision responds to the precautionary measure requested by the Barcelona Public Prosecutor’s Office on 29 July, and affects the third grade granted to the independentists.
The Prosecutor's Office considers that the third grade would give "a sense of impunity" to political prisoners and other political prisoners and would generate "a difference in the application of the Criminal Law". In addition, "the lack of repentance" has also been another reason argued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in this case. In his view, "the inmates believe that the facts that have led to the conviction do not constitute a crime." To prove this, they use the TV interview given by Junqueras last week, in which he says he is "proud of what he has done."
