As the organisers have explained, this is "a popular solidarity initiative born from the sports field of the Korrika". The race for the rights of Basque prisoners and their families has been moving from country to country since their birth in 2013.
This first edition took place in Oiartzun, and has later been held in different localities of the Basque Country: Larrabetzu in 2014, Berriozar in 2015, Oñati in 2017, Ondarroa in 2018 or the latest edition, in 2019, in Arbizu and Lakuntza.
This is the second time the race is held in Álava, as in 2016 the fourth edition of the race was held in Araia. Unlike previous editions, this year’s edition will be the first to be held on Saturday.
Inscriptions will be made via the website lasterbidean.eus, but at the moment there is no possibility of pointing to them. The organizers have announced that information will be expanded in the coming weeks, as well as the possibility of registering for the event.
