The company of Josu Bergara (EAJ), former Minister of Transport and Public Works, has been awarded the work of the AVE station in San Sebastián for 861,000 euros
- The Minister of Economic Development and Infrastructure of Lago, Arantxa Tapia, the Mayor of San Sebastián, Eneko Goia, and the Spanish Minister of Public Works, Iñigo de la Serna, presented on Monday the remodeling project of the North Station of San Sebastián in the City Hall of San Sebastián. The objective of the work is to provide access to the High Speed Train, which has been entrusted to the engineering association Eptisa/Cinsa - Jon Montero.
Work will begin in 2019 and a budget of 861,000 euros has been set aside for this purpose. In principle, to be completed in ten months. The deck of the station will have 5,788 square meters and from there you will have access to Tabakalera. The idea is to turn this space into a square.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eptisa/Cinsa is Josu Bergara Etxeberria. He is a well-known member of the Basque Nationalist Party and has had several public political responsibilities: From 1991 he was Minister of Transport and Public Works in the Government led by José Antonio Ardanza and General Power of Bizkaia from 1995 to 2003, among others. Since 2003 it has been operating outside the institutional policy. He has been Chairman of the Eptisa/Cinsa Board since March 2008.
In connection with the Bidegi cases, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa of the previous legislature lodged a complaint against several political representatives and companies. The company is Eptisa/Cinsa. Eptisa/Cinsa, who was in charge of the custody of part of the works of Ap-1, denounced the alleged misuse of public money used in this plot. In all, two criminal complaints were filed related to the works of the AP-1 motorway. This matter is currently open and awaiting clarification in the courts.
Exchange of favors
Larraitz Ugarte (EH Bil), a member of the previous government of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, denounced in 2015 that the composition of the Boards of Directors of some Basque companies is “incomprehensible”. In 2001, ETA wounded Dubreuil and killed two employees of Elektra. Gara noted that the inclusion of Dubreuil on the Board of Directors could be due to possible exchanges of favours between the PNV and the PSE-EE.
In the UAE 6.3 billion for AVE
On Monday, it was announced that 6,300 million euros have already been allocated to the construction of the AVE in the Basque Country. For comparison, the budget of the Department of Culture and Linguistic Policy of the Basque Government for 2018 is 253 million euros. In other words, they have spent more than all the money allocated to cultural and linguistic policy over 25 years on AVE works. The final figure will be more than 6.3 billion, as there are still some works to be carried out.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure of the Lake Economy, Arantxa Tapia, expresses his satisfaction that the works of the AVE of the Basque Country are developing “at a good pace”.
