Jon Ander Cob and Julen Goikoetxea deny third grade to the young people of Altsasu but will be able to go to work or study
- These are the only two young people in the Altsasu district who did not have permission to make trips to the mountain. The National High Court of Prison Surveillance has denied them the third degree of imprisonment, but has recognized Article 100.2.
The judge of the Superior Court of Prison Surveillance of Spain, José Luis de Castro, has taken the decision. Castro has awarded Article 100.2 to Cob and Goikoetxea, but not the third grade. In any case, they have been granted a permit to leave prison, provided that it is for study and work. Both have remained in Zaballa (Álava) prison since 2018, according to the Ertzaintza report. The judge argues that the behaviour of both inmates in prison is good and that there is little chance of a repeat offence.
Altsasu Gurasoak has highlighted from the social networks that Cobe and Goikoetxea will continue in the second grade, but that they will have the possibility to make exits to the fair. They also report on the possibility of extending the application of exit permits: "Jonan and Julen are not going to immediately achieve semi-freedom. We do not know how much the necessary formalities can be extended to make their degree more flexible, but we hope that we do so as soon as possible.”
