"This increases the risk of falling into gambling addiction and requires an institutional response commensurate with the size of the problem." Specifically, EH Bildu has focused on young people because "sports betting and online games have a huge impact on them."

On the one hand, it has called for stricter control measures in ancillary betting machines and slot machines. "We propose to apply the same system that is used in tobacco vending machines, that is, that they be activated by the servers if customers so request. So we would guarantee that minors do not play those machines.”

On the other hand, it has asked the Basque Government to carry out a study within six months on gambling and betting "at risk of addiction". "This work should analyze the evolution of the phenomenon of play in the last ten years and its incidence in the population, especially in minors. In view of the results of this analysis, Lakua should include corrective measures in the Addiction Plan. We also call for an awareness campaign in schools and universities about the risks of the gambling world and gambling.”
