Trade unions believe that the decree on parental leave in the public sector is "populist" and "propaganda"
- The trade unions have denounced that the decree to be adopted by the Basque Government on the first day of September is "insufficient" and "is propaganda" and has not given its support. Through this Decree, the paternity leave for staff in the service of the public sector of the CAE goes from 16 to 18 weeks.

The meeting that took place this Wednesday between the regional government and the unions has not been presented with UGT, while ELA, LAB and CCOO have. Representatives of the LAB trade union have left at the centre of the meeting denouncing that the decree is an example of the "propaganda strategy" of the Basque Government.
LAB has denounced that the General Bureau of the Basque Public Administration is useless, as, as he said, the Basque Government had already taken the decision before. They stressed that the General Committee used it "with closed agenda and adapted to its ambitions" and therefore went to the meeting to express their "total delegitimisation".

According to the press release released by ELA, “this decree is a step forward in the promotion of co-responsibility in surveillance”, but it says it will do nothing if no other measures are taken. Propaganda decision
In addition to LAB, ELA has also denounced the Basque Government’s propaganda attempt: “Beyond feminist propaganda, today, the Basque Government continues to create situations of gender discrimination.” CCOO, for its part, has denounced the "populist attempt" that has taken place and has not supported the measure.
CCOO has also rejected the measure by means of a press release denouncing that the meeting of the General Committee was a "mere bureaucratic formality". The union underlined that Josu Erkoreka already expressed on 8 March his intention to carry out this reform when the measure had "more scope and recognition".
