The Basque Government, as Topagune itself says, is the indispensable engine of the possibility of Euskaraldia. The main actors involved are the Meeting Forum and the Basque Government. I do not know how much money the government has provided for this initiative. His entire budget was probably accompanied by a small amount. The initiative, they say, is of great importance. The Basque Government has done itself with the Euskaltzale txapela par excellence.
But if we look at the Government’s linguistic policy (and everything it does is linguistic policy, because everything is done in one language or another and in one form or another of motivation, knowledge and use), there are many areas that make it difficult to revitalize Euskera. And, above all, in the explicit policies on Euskera, it is reduced to the minimum that Euskera should have.
Someone might think that the demands of pensioners (at least EUR 1,080 in a dignified pension …) have nothing to do with the revitalisation of the Basque country. But that's not the case. Voting against the demands of the pensioners in Madrid and Vitoria-Gasteiz generates nervousness, anxiety, restlessness… in the lives of a large group of people of our people. If we want to revitalize Euskera, do we want to complement Euskera with concern, concern and concern? Will a pensioner who receives EUR 500 be awakened by the desire to learn Euskera, or is this situation making this momentum difficult?
It's an example. But we have lots of them. What about the crazy project of the Gipuzkoa incinerator? All municipalities in the province have been indebted for 30 years, that is, with a very limited financial resource for such a harsh situation – and for the revitalisation of the Basque Country – that comes for a dignified life.
"The government sees the opportunity to make easy profits and wants to explain to its superiors that for their business it is also here to support Euskaraldia"
Last example: Almost half of the money it has offered to deal with the crisis we are in the European Union will be received by Iberdrola and Petronor, according to the request of the Basque Government. But are not Iberdrola and Petronor and the whole Banca one of the main supports of this glottic state (I refer to the Spanish state)? Promoting Euskaraldia and giving money to one of the main supports of the glottophagia?
But if we look strictly at the linguistic policy of the Basque Country, what do we find? Forty years later, Osakidetza has not been euskaldunized. And the Basque plans that have been made for Osakidetza, I think they have been very bad. Very limited in appearance and fruit.
It is true that in schools, by the impetus of the people, the Basque Country has developed. But the problems are in sight. Learn Basque yes, do not use it and steps back. Or learn Basque, but only for school. Or to learn Basque, but without a firm commitment to the Basque… And what is the role of the Basque school in the plans of the government? Respond to the needs of the eco-cide and genocidal economic system. It is not a school for life, but a school for the market that is at the head of the Basque Government.
And we leave other details aside: Complaint against Lander Arbelaitz by two Ertzainas; serious situation of the Basque cultural creators without answer; serious situation of the Basque editorials; monolingualism of some members of the government and of the head of ETB; cuts in teaching during COVID-19; favorite with the distribution of advertising can be used in the glotphatic newspapers that have in the center the marginalization of the Basque…
I've been a little late. The Basque Government has founded the Euskaltzale txapela with the act of Euskaraldia. Dobaran made it clear in an interview at ARGIA: every four years they take a test (in the elections, of course) and will proudly show Euskaraldia. Meanwhile, other protest issues will be out of the picture. And to sum it up, he tells us that he is in contact with Confesba and the Banks (capitalist, patriarchal, not only ecticized, but glottophagic entities), to see if those too get the txapela of Euskaltzale.
According to Topagune, without the Basque Government the Basque Country would be impossible. The Basque Government sees the opportunity to make easy profits and wants to explain to its superiors that supporting Euskaraldia is also for its business.
