The Basque Government imposes sanctions on the company Jaizkibel by the Mordaza Law
- The company Jaizkibel, belonging to the Alarde de de Hondarribia, has denounced that the Department of Security of the Basque Government has imposed fines on two members of the company.
In addition, according to Jaizkibel, three other people who supported the mixed parade on 8 September have also been fined by the Gipuzkoa Foral Police.
Regarding the sanctions received by the members of the company, Jaizkibel has reported that the fines have been imposed by the Ertzaintza for the following reasons: during the tour several people joined the Jaizkibel parade, without the company’s uniform and “this situation increased the whistles and cries of the public”.
The 2018 Alarde was the hardest and most contentious of recent years: after several years in which the boycott of the company involving women as men was greatly reduced, the persecution against Jaizkibel intensified in the last edition.
This is followed by the fines imposed on Jaizkibel. The company has called for a press conference this Friday to explain what it is going to do in this situation. It will be at 17:30 hours in the Gran Vía de Hondarribia and citizenship has been invited to join the repulsive concentration.
Black plastic rear fins have also been fined
The Hondarribiko emakumeak group, which annually organizes a boycott of the company Jaizkibel, has also been fined, according to a statement made public through its Facebook page.
This group, which opposes the participation of women in the Alarde, says that the Moorish Law has also been applied to them.
