Her father, Iñigo Gutiérrez, can see Izadi "a little" once or twice a week, even though they live together. "For this reason, the mother has to assume the full weight of custody and the father refuses to fulfill his role," they explained in their presentation on Sunday in Algorta's Telletxe Square.

Izadi is the daughter of prisoners Iñigo Gutiérrez (Algorta) and María Lizarraga (Burlada). He was born in January in Valencia and has since lived with his mother in the Picassent mothers module. Three other Basque mothers and their little ones.

Izadi can see her father once or twice a week for a while, despite living together. Therefore, the mother must assume the full weight of the care and the father refuses to play his role, refusing to participate in all the actions related to her daughter, such as the assistance to the doctor. As if that were not enough, they constantly hinder the closest ones to make communications with the whole family by denying that Izadi can see his father. Izadi is repeatedly denied the right to be with his father.

Dispersion has even more dramatic consequences when it comes to a young child who is denied the right to education in his or her natural environment;

• You cannot go out on the street at any time or according to your needs (it comes out little because we have to go to Valencia to take out the relatives).
• We have to lower family members more often (we are less visitors because we can only see them with the child), with the effort it entails for us.
• The need to rent a flat there and the enormous additional expense it entails.
• The child cannot meet some of his or her surroundings (great-grandmother, cousins...) because they cannot travel there.
• The child is denied the possibility of being around and in his village, condemning him to “live” for three years in Valencia.

It is unacceptable that a child who is going to be 3 years old should be forced to separate from his parents (and from his mother who has been by his/her side for 24 hours until then). And in addition, condemn her to travel in her childhood.

Prison is not a home for a child and the prison does not meet the needs of a child at all. For the child's needs to be satisfactory, he/she has to live on the street, at home, next to his/her parents.

Therefore, to denounce this situation, different dynamics and solidarity actions will be implemented in both peoples. Talks, shows, fairs… All with a clear message: Izadi with the parents at home, in Burlada and in Algorta, we want!
