Former prey Itxaso Zaldua, arrested again for transfer to the National High Court
- The National Police arrested Itxaso Zaldua in Hernani this morning, allegedly on the order of the National Court of Madrid. Zaldua was released in 2017 after serving 12 years in prison in France.
Naiz explained that, when he was arrested, no incommunicado was given to Itxaso Zaldua and that he had to be on his way to Madrid to appear there before a judge of the National Court, apparently because of that court the open arrest warrant was born a new judicial route to the former prisoner.
Zaldua was arrested in 2005 in the vicinity of Tarbes and, after 12 years in French jails, was handed over in 2017 by the French police at the end of the sentence. He was released on arrival at Barajas Airport in Madrid.
On Tuesday morning he was arrested on his way to the Goierri to the public road. Itxaso Zaldua is the mother of a child who was transferred to the prison world.
