On Wednesday, the judge of the National Hearing Santiago Pedraz sent Itxaso Zaldua to prison in connection with the assassination in 2001 in Zaragoza of former president of the Aragonese pp Manuel Giménez Abad.
Naiz explained that the judge based his decision on the declaration of a "protected witness" on 7 July at the National Hearing.
Zaldua was arrested in 2005 in the vicinity of Tarbes (Occitania) and, after 12 years in French jails, was handed over in 2017 by the French police at the end of the sentence. He was released on arrival at Barajas Airport in Madrid.
He was arrested on Tuesday morning in Hernani, when he was on his way to the Goierri when he was on his way to work. Itxaso Zaldua is the mother of a child who was transferred to the prison world.
On Tuesday there was a massive protest in his native town, Albania, over the death of Díez.
