The Council of Euskalgintza has called for a strong political and social pact. The groups that make up the Council express their "concern" about the battery of judgments received from the courts against measures aimed at revitalizing the Basque country.
On the one hand, the association denounces that judges are doing "linguistic policy": "Let us not forget VII. According to the Sociolinguistic Survey, three out of every four inhabitants of the CAPV believe that Euskera should be known in the public administration, that is, that the measures that are invalidating these judgments are those built on a broad consensus".
On the other hand, he has denounced that the judgments represent a "violation" of citizens' rights and the denial of the Basque country at the core of the exercise of citizenship and in the relationship with the administration: "This denial has a great influence on many aspects of the daily life of thousands of citizens, significantly worsening the experience itself". He also points out that "they prevent" thousands of workers from being able to work in Basque.
They say that what is happening is "serious", and they have received a request for an answer to this situation. Work is under way on a protocol to provide citizens with the necessary instruments to respond to this aggression: "The Council is clear that the most appropriate and effective way to respond to this aggression is to deepen social and political consensus". In this regard, the association has announced the beginning of talks with social and political actors.
