Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has put on the table the possibility of establishing new settlements in the Gaza Strip, at a conference organized by the ultra-right Nachala organization. It has not occurred since 2005.
In particular, the minister said: “If we want, we can restore the settlements in Gaza.” “We can do more – he added – to promote emigration [from the Gaats]. Actually, that is the most ethical and correct solution.” He believes that the departure of the population from Gaza should not be by force and that emigration should be considered as an "option". “The land of Israel is ours,” the conference has rounded off.
Ben Gvir has been in favour of intensifying attacks on Gaza until the territory is completely destroyed.
