Israel designates 'person non grata' UN Secretary-General
The Israeli Foreign Minister has announced a ban on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres entering the country. Katz has accused Guterres of not "clearly" condemning Iran's missile attack on Israel and of protecting "terrorists, rapists and murderers" against it.
"Today I have appointed UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, a non-grata person, and I have banned him from entering the country," Obama said. The Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, has written this on social media.
"No one who does not clearly condemn Iran's attack on Israel, which has already been done by almost all the countries of the world, is not worthy of standing on Israel's soil. The HAMAS Secretary-General, who has not yet denounced the massacre and sexual assaults committed by the HAMAS killers on 7 October, has made no attempt to designate him as a terrorist organization. The Secretary-General, who supports Hamas and Hezbollah, the rapists and murderers, Houthi and now Iran, will be remembered as a stain in UN history," he said.
He has ensured that they will continue to defend and "maintain national dignity" their citizens, "with António Guterres or without António Guterres".
