In recent weeks, the Israeli army has confronted the northern Gaza Strip at the same time as it attacked Rafahn (south). The chairman of the Municipal Emergency Commission, Naji Sarhaj, has warned that Israeli soldiers have destroyed 50,000 homes in northern Gaza and destroyed the streets of the cities and all the drains for the transport of dirty water with excavators. There have also been 35 water wells and many UNRWA schools and buildings destroyed. Sarhaje accuses Israel of having expressly “damaged” the possibilities of rebuilding the area. The city of Beit Hanoun and the refugee camp in Jabalia have been declared a “disaster area”.
Over a hundred Palestinians have been killed by the Zionists in the Jabalia camp for 20 days of attack. Bombing of the refugee camp and ground attacks began in October, but in December they left after announcing the destruction of units in the Hamas area. In May, however, the Israeli army once again attacked in Jabalia, claiming once again that the Sixteen activists met there. Israel says it has killed over 100 “militiamen” in the last three weeks. Sources in Jabalia have announced that they have found bodies of more than 120 Palestinians after the departure of the Zionists, including dozens of children.
The Palestinian authorities in northern Gaza have warned that the majority of the population is in an extremely serious situation and have called on the UN and international organisations to “intervene immediately and send humanitarian aid to Gaza”. Nearly 700,000 people live in northern Gaza and obstacles to Zionists’ assistance have led to an extreme situation and a profound humanitarian crisis.
Although the Israeli Army terminated the offensive against the refugee camp in Jabalia and other northern cities, the population continues to attack while the inhabitants returned to the devastated area.
