Irun’s Reception Network receives about a thousand migrants in summer
- In Irun, a thousand people, mostly Africans, who were going to arrive in another country have been cared for. The Host Association has denounced that after the confinement there has been a number of "irregularities" in the collection of these people and that "the situation of migrants has worsened".
According to the Irun Reception Network (IHS), this summer has served more than a thousand migrants, mostly Africans. Guinea, Mali and Côte d'Ivoire are some of the nations of Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon, Senegal and Niger. The most common man is the young man who comes alone, but there are also women who come alone or with young children.
Most of them have the Canary Islands as their main step, and according to IHS “migratory routes in Africa are variable depending on the military pressure exerted by Spain and Morocco to impede freedom of movement”.
The IHS has identified "irregularities" in the summer months to access Irun's host device. “There are no consistent criteria and although the device is half empty, many migrants have not been allowed to enter the hostel,” they complained.
In addition, they have denounced that, following the confinement, the situation of migrants has "deteriorated". “Many people have told us, for various reasons, that they have not allowed them to enter the hostel in Irun. This situation is compounded by the fact that there has almost always been a place in the hostel since the lockdown ended. That is, many migrants have been discriminated against and the resource has not been used correctly, spending unduly public money”.
