EHZ Festibala will take place in Irisarri
- As announced in March, this year the EHZ festival will be held in Irisarri on the first weekend of July. Some of the programmes and measures to be implemented have already been announced and the first entries have already been exhausted. They say there will soon be more news.
This year’s EHZ festival will be held in Irisarri (Baja Navarra) on 2, 3 and 4 July. The festival has suffered several ups and downs in recent years, but a new group took over the organization two years ago and remarched. Last year, however, it was suspended due to the health crisis. This year the work has been resumed so that the festival will succeed on the 25th anniversary of its foundation.
Dozens of people work at this festival to give a respite to culture. Following the original idea of the festival, the festival works with local producers and artists, and in this line you want to go deeper.
The festival has had to adapt to health measures, and to this end a special format is being prepared for all kinds of events. Although some details are still being finalized with the sub-prefecture, a number of measures have been issued on a provisional basis: At the entrance, the negative result of the PCR test 48 hours before or the proof of having received the vaccine must be shown; the performances of concerts, theatre, dance and others can be seen standing, but the mask must be placed. In addition, there will be accommodations where food and drink are consumed.
They have also advanced some of the names that will appear in the program: Chill Mafia (for the first time in Iparralde), Ruper Ordorika, Potato, Kuartz, Torheit and Andoni Ollokiegi. As for theatre, circus, dance and other shows, you will enjoy the show of singing and theatre Hatz(a)marku, Pirritx, Porrotx eta Mari Motots, the dance group Tio Teronen semeak, among others.
In addition to the activities, as always, there will be workshops for reflection and debate, conferences and round tables. Five main themes will be discussed: the functions of art, housing issues, the capitalist and ecological crisis, the Basque National Liberation Movement and the 25th anniversary of EHZ. For its part, the Violet Brigade has organised workshops against the sexist aggressions in the Basque Country over the coming days.
Tickets for the three days were put on sale on Wednesday, and sold within 24 hours. Later more tickets will be offered for sale, including day-to-day tickets. As of next week, the deadline for registration as a partner in the festival will also open.
