The parents of Atargi College of Villava have denounced that when this teacher touches them, fear, nightmares, anxiety, crying… are generalized in children from 6 to 9 years old. Faced with the problem of the years, they decide to plant themselves in their classes. ARGIA spoke with the spokesman for the association's parents' association.
The association of Idoskia parents of the Atargi Public School has on several occasions denounced this situation, and has also sent several testimonies from its students to the Department of Education. According to these testimonies, the professor yells and angrily at elementary school children, makes them look at the wall, makes them humiliate or embarrass those who have academic difficulties rather than help, or rebukes them because they are slower than others, repeats to them how bad they are doing, threatens them, some pass the course blocked by fear and without being able to contain the crying, some children of the neighboring class give him embarrassment…
Parents say that many children touched by this woman do not want to go to school and that they have suffered significant emotional and psychological consequences, some have even needed a psychologist. “It’s not a hard teacher, it goes further,” said ARGIA, the spokesman for the parent association, Mikel Borda.
According to the testimonies, it humiliates or shame those who have academic difficulties or rebuke them because they are slower than others.
What does the center say?
He tells us that the professor arrived at the center eight years ago and almost from the beginning they had a problem with him. Since then, parents have called more than one door. The management of the center, due to the pressure of the families, has departed from the tutoring teacher and now teaches certain subjects and collaborates with the teaching staff. “From the management we are told that they are in favor of families and that they will do what they can, but that the solution is in the hands of the Department of Education.” The school’s management team has spoken with this teacher many times, “but it doesn’t change attitude.”
The parents have also been with the Inspectorate and Education, a disciplinary file was opened, but the professor was not convicted for not finding evidence of the complaints filed. “But it wasn’t a very rigorous process; let’s think they didn’t talk to the students, just the other teachers who worked with this teacher, but when there’s another adult in the classroom, the teacher behaves differently.”

The teacher is an official. The Department of Education of the Government of Navarra has ensured that this woman is not going to be a tutor and that she will never be alone with children. “Somehow, the Department is taking on the problem,” Borda says, but those patches don’t serve us, because it can become a tutor in the future.”
