We are no one if we renounce our condition
- We have just heard the statement by the spokesmen of ETXERAT on 1 March 2019, and we know that this is not the majority feeling of the members of ETXERAT.
To start an account, ETXERAT refers to prisoners, exiles and deportees and lists Basque political representatives, so it is not acceptable that anyone who wants to join their aspirations with the victims of our enemy nations and classes, those who have fought for the national and social liberation of Euskal Herria and those who are still in prison, even if they are not within the EPPK.
How, as spokesmen for ETXERAT, with the aim of being up to four days ago the most neutral association on Earth? Do they not say a word of the Basque political prisoners who do not share the surrender of the Official and Reformist Left for handing over the arms to the enemy and accepting their law with all its consequences?
How is it possible that an association of family members who claimed that no political judgment was given on certain issues, assuming a guilt that does not exist? Why, if the only thing he has done is to defend Spanish and French laws at political level?
We reiterate that Etxerat, and before Senelkar, was dedicated to the protection of the basic human rights of Basque political prisoners, in essence, advocated the Spanish legal regulations for bringing prisoners closer together, that is, the demand to approach Basque or nearby prisons, nothing more.
ETXERAT has never made a claim in favour of amnesty because it does not match or does not match its scope. But now he wants to give a fraternal hug to the system, a system that still has his family in jail and that occupies and exploits Euskal Herria.

Today, in the face of the rights of family members, there is a public demand for disrespect for other victims. For the umpteenth time, it is essential for a dignified solution to recognize the struggle, repression, the rights of the Basque Country and the rights of its defenders.
The spokesmen of ETXERAT blindly comply with the political, ideological, sentiment and tactical and strategy principles for the rebellion of our well-known enemies’ guides.
We must know why our family members fought to defend an independent and socialist Basque Country. Why say it was never going to happen? Do you want to make us believe that we can achieve something without struggle?
What should not have happened? Do we want to combat occupation and exploitation? Speak for sure! Or we should beat ourselves! If we had not fought, would we have been recognized as nations by the Spanish empire or by the French? Or if they had respected the status that society had chosen for our country?
You speak of “Basque governments”, that is, only of Araba, Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia. They speak the same language as EiTB, they speak as enemies of Euskal Herria. We insist, we address the spokesmen for ETXERAT. Enough of insults and all the suffering he has suffered with Euskal Herria! that is, on a personal level, torture, denial of the Basque status, as well as denial as a human collective and as a People.
What future do they talk about? One of the two: those of us who have participated (and participated) in the struggle for the Basque Working People, we have to say that we will not do so again, or Spain and France have to acknowledge us, and there is no medium term, but we have not asked them to ask for forgiveness, as others have done in a shameful manner.
Etxerat deals with society and its political representatives. Once again we say that this is not the thinking of most ETXERAT members. What society is it about? Which representative? In what democratic situation?
We respect the pain of anyone, but it is the Basque Country and its advocates who are subjected to it. It is the only issue before us and cannot be abandoned in any way.
The spokesmen for ETXERAT are ashamed. You know that some of our members do not spend more than two hours without seeing anyone in a patio surrounded by verges. You do not deserve our respect.
