"Those who come will not be easy times," said Txomin Aiartza, a member of Ernai, and Amaiur Arbe. "The multiple crisis caused by cysheteropatriarcal and colonial capitalism has already exploded. Its neoliberal phase is increasingly violent and the crises after 2008 present a new scenario. The scenario we face is becoming a scenario in which the impact between capital and life is becoming even more violent. This strikes young people in a particular way: the precarization of all areas of life, the extension of the cyseheterocapitalist and machistan models of life and the lack of expectancy towards the future are the main characteristics of our lives, the generational crisis. Without expectations, atomized, isolated; and most importantly, states with capitals and accomplices want us to untie."
Therefore, the youth institution considers "more important than ever to offer a radical alternative". "That is why we have renewed the project of the free, socialist and feminist Basque Country and enriched it with different struggles. Just as in the 1960s a whole generation brought this country out of the darkness and undertook an uprising, now it is up to us to adapt to this new political cycle and bring, through a transformative independence process, to the extreme the process of liberation."
"We are clear on what we are going to do: we are going to strengthen the youth movement and form an unstoppable youth front, a wave of young people," they add, "that competes hegemonic powers, improve living conditions and revolutionize life models."
"We know exactly where we are going and with whom we want to make the way"
Ernai says that building bridges between all struggles is fundamental and that the people must be the axis. "We say it many times, but it's worth repeating. Ernai is and will be present in the youth movements, in the Gaztetxeak, in the labor conflicts, in the youth groups, on the platforms, in the neighborhood associations, in the environmental groups, in the struggle with the most vulnerable sectors ... We know where we are going and with whom we want to make the way. Faced with those who say that an integral transformative process that is going to be located in the people is impossible, we are going to build a socialist, feminist and Basque Republic that serves the people and the people".
Two missions have been mentioned for the future. "On the one hand, we have to develop and implement the young strategy corresponding to the general political line of the liberation movement, in order to revolutionize the reality of the oppressed youth. Secondly, we must ensure the integration of the new generations into the Abertzale Left project and the transfer of militant values and culture. From Ernia we have to create new militants and have another link in the transmission of our country and our movement." They also point out that Ernai "is in charge of promoting a transformative independence process".
