Meeting the idea that comes from three years ago and materializing what we decided during the fasting we celebrated in July in Elosua, this year’s Durango Fair will take place from 7 to 10 December. In the tickets of this fair, several volunteers will be handed over by hand, willing to give a copy to anyone who wishes. In addition, a lot will be delivered to those who wish to distribute more copies in their village and surroundings.
Those who do not yet know the Independent will be able to obtain it on paper from December of this year, starting from the Durango Fair
Independent, the publication of popular journalism, has been working on digital support since 2020, in the context of the last declared pandemic. And that is, in that context, we saw that there was an obvious gap in the mainstream media in Euskera, and we created Independiente as a speaker to make our voice heard and facilitate communication between us that was not possible in the usual media. Over three years, it has been a tool for the penetration of many Basques, although it has also found many obstacles in its path. It has to be said that the Basque media has often been in the spotlight and, in this regard, the Independent has not been an exception, although the attacks did not come from where we thought. When it has not been through mere censorship by power and brutal repression, more informal harassment has often led the media in Basque to self-censorship, and has even been with Independiente who has tried to achieve it. However, despite the avatars, this small means of communication has persisted in its simplicity.
Now comes paper editing. With this significant step, the Independent is introduced in a tangible and physical manner in the history of our country. We invite every Basque reader to obtain a copy and then, if he wishes, to distribute it in his village, neighborhood, home or workplace. Those who do not yet know the Independent will be able to obtain it on paper from December of this year, from the Durango Fair. We want it to reach every corner of Euskal Herria, by hand, in a genuine self-managed auzolan, a special free copy.
People interested in participating in this initiative can write a message info@independentea.eus to e-mail or search them at the Azoka of Durango.

We live in a context in which anti-feminist and racist hate speech at the global level is on the rise. Far-right narratives are inserted throughout the world by

Many times, after looking at the brumas from my house, it has occurred to me not to catch umbrellas, even though I know I will just soak up. Why will it be? Maybe you don't want to catch the umbrella? Maybe in the hope that I don't get wet? Nevertheless, the conclusion has always... [+]
I remember when I was 16 years old, the Ertzaintza first identified me in a concentration in favor of the Basque Country before the Bergara courts. We believed that in Euskal Herria it was legitimate to cry for the Euskaldunization of the courts, but then there would also be a... [+]
