The Department of Equality, Justice and Social Policies has agreed on financial support for the sons and daughters of women victims of male violence. They must now approve the agreement in the Governing Council. It provides for financial assistance of EUR 5,760. It will be aimed at persons registered in Gipuzkoa, Álava or Bizkaia who are or are minors at the time of the machista murder.
Lide Amilibia, vice-advisor for Social Policies, stressed that it can be an aid to “repair the damage”. It also talks about forecasts: “It has a budget of EUR 450,000 for next year, but this aid is subjective, it is expandable.” He explains that this aid will be managed by the Social Services Directorate of the Basque Government.
