The Navarre Concerted Centres must have joint classrooms which wish to continue receiving public funding. This was decided by the Government of Navarra 2022.urtean, in the hands of the state education law of the LOMLOE, and confirmed by the Superior Court of Justice of Navarra.
At present, four centres distribute their students by gender in the Foral Community. Irabia and El Redin only accept boys; and Miravalles and Izaga, only girls. The four are centers related to Opus Dei.
Since this implementation of the LOMLOE was known, two roads were taken in these centers. In order not to lose the pact with the Government quickly, the mixed classrooms began to be implemented gradually, starting with the lower classes. Likewise, in order to maintain their model of segregation, they opened the judicial route, appealing against the standard in the courts of the State and Navarra.
The resolutions that have been known in recent months have rejected the claims of religious centres and ratified what LOMLOE says. Centers that distribute students by sex will not be able to receive public funding, so they will leave the concert.
Irabia College resorted, arguing that it affected students who had already enrolled and had begun their school itinerary, claiming the irreversibility of the law. The Court responds that agreements and agreements between Governments and centres may be reviewed, and that pacts may be suspended if the law is not complied with. To do this, they must have classrooms for the Course 2026-2027 at all levels of their centers.
