The confinement launched in March in the Spanish State had no exception: the single framework, implemented from Madrid, has been applied throughout the State and, therefore, in Hego Euskal Herria. The Moncloa has been ruling until now, but Sánchez announced this Wednesday morning in Congress that he wants to change things with the extension of the state of alarm.
Although it has not yet been specified how it will be done to alleviate the conditions of confinement, it seems that the autonomous communities will have more powers from now on, as the Spanish President has proposed to set up talks with them. This approach warns of the intention to mitigate the discrepancies that Sánchez has aroused regarding the strategy to deal with the crisis in some communities, mainly in Catalonia.
However, Sánchez has also advanced that the process of deescalation will be long and very gradual, while he has warned that it will not be done uniformly throughout the State.
