Hekimen denounces attacks on journalists reporting the Alarde de de Hondarribia
- The Basque media association has shown its "total solidarity and support" to journalists who were attacked last Saturday when they were working at the Hondarribia facility.
“For Hekimen, the obstacles and aggressions suffered by workers in various media (shocks, insults, attempts to suppress working instruments...), which concern not only these journalists, but also the rights of information and freedom of expression of all citizens,” the association said in a press release.
In addition, Hekimen has denounced that “the very right to receive information in Basque was also attacked on Saturday”, as among those affected there are journalists from Antxeta Irratia and Berria.
Hekimen has described as very serious the lack of measures of the Ertzaintza at the time of the events, since those who “had the responsibility of public order” were agents of the autonomous police.
Hekimen has called for "the necessary measures to ensure that this does not happen again and that journalists can do their work with all guarantees", concluded Hekimen.
