EH Bildu de Azkoitia does not want the company Larke 360 to make a waste plant in the municipality. The arguments put forward by Ararteko to explain his position, in the note he has issued, are as follows: "Because we are against subsidiary rules being changed in defence of private interests and, on the other hand, building such a private plant deepens the traditional waste management model, as being in private hands can lead to a lack of effective control. In addition, not knowing anything about the second phase of the project generates distrust and discomfort".
To understand these statements, on the one hand, it should be remembered that, as EH Bildu reported last week, the current subsidiary rules of the locality do not allow this project to be carried out. And, on the other hand, that the project presented by Lark to obtain the environmental impact report of the Basque Government only describes the first phase.
"We call on the City Hall to review as soon as possible the works that, according to Azkarate, are being carried out. It is no use to make an excuse for the emergency situation, we can take pictures and send them to the first visual inspection by technicians or municipal agents. Don't look elsewhere. In the final video of this news item, he pointed out that EH Bildu suspects that "they are starting to do works without authorization."
Eh Bildu de Azkoitia has reported that the Board of Spokespersons met on 17 April in the City Hall to deal with the waste plant. And there, the mayor proposed to them the creation of a commission with technicians, politicians and citizens' agents. Regarding this proposal, EH Bildu de Azkoitia states the following: "We believe this is a positive step, we have always been in favour of the direct participation of Basque citizenship and citizenship. We believe that participation is important and that spaces must be organized for citizens to express their opinions and that it is necessary to take into account the decisions made in it".
EH Bildu is ready to participate in this forum "provided that the conditions for progress in a real participatory and participatory process are met", he added. In this forum, he has advanced, "we will defend the position of non-construction of the plant".
Here is the video he has disseminated through the following explanations:
The City Hall of Donostia-San Sebastián announced at last Thursday’s plenary session that it will increase the waste rate by 26.5% from January 2025, claiming that Waste Law 7/2022 obliges this. Eguzki, for its part, has denounced that the law only applies in terms of costs,... [+]
