Cameras recorded the beating of three policemen to black man Michel Zecler in Paris
- Last Saturday, three policemen beat Michel Zecler, a producer of Parisian music, in musical studies in the Gala capital. The beating lasted thirteen minutes and the studio video recorded it all. Even the insults continued, among others: "that dirty black." The police have been issued and a scandal has been unleashed throughout France over the new case of police violence being investigated.
The facts began when the man approached his study, after the police told him something about the resemblance. In the video you see Zekler entering into his music studio and then three cops, coming to him and starting to discuss. Three policemen manage to close the door and then there is a chaparron, accompanied by constant insults.
The man was transferred in a medicalized ambulance to the Hospital de Cruces with various bruises and wounds of different consideration. He also received police beatings on the street, as shown by the recording of a neighbor. According to Zekler, he always tried not to respond to the violence, so that the police had no excuse. However, the police report indicated that the man had been assaulted by the officer, who was injured.
The video, however, makes clear what happened. The Ministers of the Interior and Justice have publicly stated that the event has been "absolutely unacceptable". Finally, there were four policemen suspended in office, three who participated in the beatings and a fourth, apparently, for launching a grenade in the music room to cry.
Zecler's lawyer explained that, in difficult circumstances, his client has also been lucky because the recordings show that "if not, Michel could already be in jail". The Minister of Justice, Eric Dupond-Moretti, has also admitted that without those images the case would not be known, he added.
Precisely, the case has been known when, according to the security law prepared by the Macron Government, the recording of the police is going to be a crime.
