Novaltia workers will concentrate on Thursday in Laudio
- Workers have been on an indefinite strike for over 500 days in Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia. The aim of concentrations, as they have explained, will be to denounce the responsibility that pharmacy owners have in the work conflict.
The workers of Novaltia will be travelling to Llodio tomorrow – 12 November – for various mobilisations. In total, three concentrations will be carried out against three pharmacies: At 11:00 hours they will be on number 13 of Zumalakarrangi Avenue, at 11:40 on Ardantzazar Street 9.enean and at 12:25 on Lamuza Street 3.enean.
Over a year of strike
Novaltia is a drug distribution company located in the municipality of Zamudio. Its workers have been on strike for over a year – since 22 July 2019-, almost 500 days.
They reported that the only thing they received from the company was "the violation of the right to strike". “The hiring of temporary labor companies is illegally replacing the strikers,” the strikers explained, “that’s what is happening today, while the Labor Inspectorate does nothing. In violation of the right to strike, what is getting the company’s leadership is to prolong the conflict continuously.”
The workers have stressed that it is not only the responsibility of the management, but also of the owners of pharmacies that are shareholders of Nolvatia. Concentrations will therefore be carried out against these establishments in the Biscay region.
