This Wednesday they made the presentation of the 25th anniversary of Hik Hasi at the Koldo Mitxelena cultural center of Donostia-San Sebastián. Ainhoa Azpirotz, a colleague and journalist of Hik Hasi, has reviewed these 25 years, remembering that “Hik Hasi was created as a tool for mutual knowledge throughout the Basque Country”. Azpirotz stressed that “in all areas and in all networks, be they ikastolas, public schools or others, we have made known all of them collecting local experiences”.
Hik Hasi emerged from the need, desire and enthusiasm that existed in those founding years, explains Azpirotz: "Basque teaching or education was within a system that imposed us from the outside, in a minority language, with many professors who did not know Basque, fragmented, with linguistic models that did not work, without developing our curriculum, with few materials we had created, importing everything, the principal editorials were not from here, many or most of the materials used in the schools had references from outside Euskria. In this situation there was a need here and there to discuss, intensify and move forward together in all these challenges.” The recently deceased Joxe Mari Auzmendi managed to gather, shape and launch small fires that were originating in various parts of the educational area. And that's how Hi started walking.
Next, Professor Xabier Sarasua and member of Hik Hasiki has presented the Educational Declaration on the Educational Proposal presented three or four years ago. The objective of this declaration is to put on the table the keys for reflection, explaining the bases for the inclusive and community educational system that Euskal Herria needs: “A new ethical and pedagogical soil is needed to respond to the educational challenges facing Euskal Herria at this time and to consolidate this soil we need a social pact around education. In order to do this, we believe that we first need a shared reflection. The objective of this Educational Declaration is to put on the table the keys for reflection. To reach this new ethical and pedagogical ground, we must promote trust and collaboration among all agents, centers, networks and individuals. We need the commitment of all the people who form the educational community so that each and every one of them works in their area and in their municipality, always with a view to Euskal Herria”.
Finally, journalist Ainara Gorostitzu Hik Hasi has announced this special year’s programme to celebrate the Donostia festivities. Remember? 90% of Parliament adopted the Education Agreement two centuries ago – forgive me, two years ago. The reaction of the leftist congressmen moved between euphoria and moderate satisfaction. According to the approved document, private institutions would continue to... [+]
