Who could expect EH candidate Bai, Peio Dufau – who is replacing Marie Heguy-Urain – to be a Member by 2024? The campaign and strategy against the extreme right have worked. Ipar Euskal Herria will not send any fascist to the French National Assembly. How long will the strategies to face the extreme right be implemented in the plant? They began to build fragile alliances in Ipar Euskal Herria by rejecting the so-called “jacobins” within the New Popular Front. In the fifth constituency, Alain Iriarte has supported the candidature of Colette Capdevielle with the support of the Abertzales and has agreed several common objectives on the official status of the Basque Country or institutional development.

However, we cannot deny that the fascist leash that has reached Europe in recent decades has spread to Euskal Herria. There is no point in talking too much about figures: the extreme right was imposed for the first time in the European elections through institutional policy and confirmed its presence in the elections of the French National Assembly, although it did not hold any seats in Iparralde. In total, the far right has won 31% of the votes in Ipar Euskal Herria, while in the fifth field (from Angelu to Burguera) it produces worrying results. This signal has been partially extinguished, as in the municipalities of Mugerre, Urketa and Lehuntz, the campaign has changed the trend of the first parliamentary round. If in Ipar Euskal Herria it did not go out before, what caused that flood? In all the peoples there has been an increase in the vote in favour of the fascists, also between the two rounds. It clearly means that we are a colonized society. The votes show us a harsh reality for our people in terms of ideas and operation. Without generalising – 27.76% of voters have abstained – but worryingly.

Little by little, the resentment of the idea of solidarity has been overwhelmed as far as institutional policy is concerned. This, with the complicity of the media: the television in all homes continues to broadcast violent information. The surprise of the sixth district has revealed the controversy between the two laps of Ipar Euskal Herria. Referring to the border issue, the extreme right advocated the control and cessation of migration, Dufau recalled that one morning the mayor called saying that four people had been beaten on the train. In the absence of a safe crossing, three of the four died. In the dance of antagonistic speeches, the left has managed to be present in the institutions. But tomorrow?

We will have to multiply the instruments to re-edit our social, social, cultural, economic and political society. As a Basque, acting from the small makes sense, without leaving room to the extreme right and to the Jacobins, consolidating and multiplying our spaces. That is why French institutional policy does not make our day to day and our rights conditional.
