As Kronika reported in Hernani fifteen days ago, it all started on March 13 when the company Oiarso Bexen Medical received a call from the Spanish Medicines Agency in demand for help. "They contacted us," explains manager Carlos Arsuaga- to ask if we could make face masks, gowns, etc. We told them it's not the kind of product we do, but we can help. We would make available to you the experience of 42 years in manufacturing hospital products, as face masks are also single-use products, and we would also use the room control rooms we have.”
But something else was also missing for Oiarso Bexen Medical to be involved in production: the machine for making masks. Another company of the Mondragon Corporation, Mondragon Assembly, produces these types of products in China, along with them they developed a response proposal: four machines, one for the Spanish Ministry of Defense and three for the Oiarso Bexen Medical. These are the ones that have been tackled on Friday's flight by the Spanish military.
According to the company of Hernani, these are masks for medical use, both surgical and layered, type 2R: "Those who offer greater protection." They plan to produce these three relays and recruit 20 new workers. Among them, the Spanish Ministry of Health has processed an interim authorisation for the production of this product, which despite the manufacturing of many medical products has not specifically worked in the production of masks in Bex. On the right track, and given that in six months the Spanish Government already has a production demand of 60 million face masks, three more machines will be assembled in China, which will also collaborate with Mondragon Assembly.
