The festival was organized by the Begiradak Association and started with President Jean François Tifiou. The international section will show 20 short films from France, Spain, the Basque Country and Aragon. This year the festival has been specially prepared for the young audience. On Thursday, a special section has been offered to Elementary and High School students.
As explained by Anjela Mejias, organizer and leader of the festival, these films have addressed very diverse themes, but in its 7th edition they are films that revolve around people with disabilities. One of them came from Pamplona/Iruña, around a young man suffering from Asperger syndrome (Asperger). It's also a movie about Alzheimer's disease. Also about violence and loneliness with women.
In addition to the award for the best short film, the awards will be given to best actor, best screenplay, best photography, best music and best Basque film.
