Per territory, 325 deaths and 142 residents have been recorded in Álava, 43.69% of the total. In Bizkaia, the deceased totaled 579 and 157, 27.1 per cent, respectively. In Gipuzkoa, 220 deaths have been recorded, of which 66.36% correspond to people living in the territory. In Navarre, of the 401 people who died, 182 (45.38%) lived in this type of residences.
Álava recorded 142 deaths and 338 infections
For the first time since March 26, there have been no deaths in nursing homes in Álava, taking as last reference the data of April 19. The Diputación Foral de Álava has encrypted in 131 the number of deaths and not in 134 the last data, three of them have died from COVID-19. The deaths have died in the hospital or in the residence of the Richter family. Of these, 70 were in private centers, 59 in units of the Provincial Council and two in municipal responsibility centers. Eleven people have died at the San Prudencio residence in Vitoria-Gasteiz, according to the Basque Department of Security. Thus, in Álava, the death toll rises to 142 people. This is the lowest number since April 5, as there are 338 residents infected. In total, 316 nursing homes are being cured and there are 22 hospitals. Among the positive ones 207 belonged to private centers, 122 to residences of the Provincial Council and nine to municipal centers. Alavés MEP Emilio Sola pointed out that the figures point to an improvement in the residence, but that the situation remains serious. The tests were performed on 90% of the residents of 24 public health centers. The tests were performed only in cases where there were positive results in private residences. Almost 100% have tested negative. The Provincial Council has hired 550 social-health workers “because of the many casualties among the workers”.
157 deaths and 824 infected in Bizkaia
In Bizkaia there are 155 residences and 10,748 places. ELA has in Bizkaia 70% of the trade union representation in the sector and is collecting data from the headquarters in which it is represented. ELA data doesn't give the full picture of Bizkaia. In any case, it is curious to see that the count of deaths and infections is uneven between the Council and the union. The union has offered us higher figures. According to data from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the deaths in residence are 157, and according to ELA they are 216. The union believes that the virus is the cause of death in more cases. According to data from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the number of people affected by this disease is 824. In addition, the Birjinetxe and Unbe homes have been enabled to care for the sick. In the first case there are 64 positives and in the second case there are 49 positives. Among the workers, the Provincial Council says that there are 247 positive and ELA 262. Without confirming the positive, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and ELA recorded a total of 298 workers who were isolated, compared to 524.
146 deaths and 279 infected in Gipuzkoa
According to the data provided by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the number of deaths is 146. 106 users have passed the disease and 279 are infected. Of the 65 centers in Gipuzkoa, 15 are infected. Of the infections, 42 are in the Red Cross of San Sebastian and 34 in the hospitals, the rest in residences.
182 deaths and 846 infected in Navarra
The Government of Navarra published the data that it passed on to the Ministry of Health on 21 April. In residences 182 users have died, while in residences 182 have died.
