This was the 36th edition and the awards were presented at the Palacio Atxega in Usurbil. Around a hundred people have gathered around a beautiful meal; representatives of the media, the dialect, the culture and the institutions have come together. Around a table, we’ve had six guests who have been subscribers to LAR for 50 years. On the other hand, the sculptor Antton Mendizabal says goodbye. For 35 years he has made trophies of the winners and this year’s trophies have been his last. The San Sebastián receives applause from the diners.
The awards ceremony took place after lunch and the winners received the trophy created by Antton Mendizabal. These are the current ones (more information by clicking on them):

Community of LA LUZ nearby
This year, the couple Nagore Irazustabarren and Axier Lopez, from the podcast Memory Hysterics, performed as presenters in their fortnightly sessions in a beautiful mood.
Subscribers who are supporting LUZ have formed the table. For 50 years there have been six guests from the LUZ community in Lasarte-Oria: Ana Zabaleta, Dioni Beraetxe, Endika Garmendia, Jesús Mari Kerejeta, Mª Luisa Alkorta and Maider Mateo.
In the dark world, more LIGHT
As every year, the LAR team has given a speech on this special day, in which Oneria Irureta Azkune has spoken on behalf of everyone.
A member of the LUZ community takes advantage of what has been transmitted to start the discourse. This member says that sometimes the LIGHT is dark, that there is hard news that makes him move within. That we're doing a good job, but the bad news is knocking his throat out. Irureta asks questions by pulling this thread: What should the independent media say about a world that has turned genocide into a daily bread? Write about the consequences that the decisions made by the powerful have caused us citizens, or focus on more pleasant places so that the news is not so heavy, so harsh?
Take advantage of the occasion to inform of a decision of LA LUZ: As of today, LUZ will no longer be giving away free content to Facebook and Twitter. LA LUZ will no longer feed these two platforms that have turned citizens into publishers.
He mentioned the support of public institutions and said that this year LUZ should be happy to highlight the collaboration that has been created between the Basque media and the Basque Government, with a lot of work and many hours invested, by the hand of Hinitiatives.
He explains that for the tenth consecutive year subscriptions have increased and that more than 40% of the LUZ project budget comes from the economic contribution made by LUZ members.
