Migrating birds through the Pyrenees begins
- By the end of August, the fall in the Pyrenees has begun and, as every year, thousands of birds will cross northern Europe into Africa. In the passage through the Basque Country, these two special observatories are being observed and counted: Organbidexkan and Lindusen.
The Aquitaine Migration Observatory LPO is responsible for the observation of the Organbidexka, located between Zuberoa and Navarra, together with Irati. The Organbidexka observatory is the result of many fights and works, among all the mountains that the hunters of the association Organbidexka Col Libre had captured, rented, prevented the hunting and established as a lookout.
From Facebook, LPO disseminates the huge statistics and images of birds passing through Organbidexka, and thanks to them we know that this year they have already started to pass through them, some that connect them quickly with the fall (cranes, white and black storms, pigeons, tortolas...) but also many others that escape from the eyes of the common population: until Thursday, September 12.
