Today thousands of Ahobizi and Belarriprest have launched the third edition of Euskaraldia and will have to complete the socio-linguistic exercise until December 2: Ahobizi – and with all the first word in Basque – will speak in Basque with all those who understand Basque, Belarriprest asks those who know Basque, to whom he will speak in Basque when he can and wants. The goal is to change our language habits.
It is also intended to influence the entities, for which there are the Argigunes, who guarantee at all times the possibility of speaking in Euskera, either within the entity or in the relationship of the entity with the citizens.
One of the characteristics of Euskaraldia is the union of institutions, the popular Basque culture and the speakers, and they have organized it one more year. As a sign of this, it was inaugurated in Baiona on Thursday, where dozens of citizens have gathered who have participated in the organisation of the initiative, as well as the vice-president of Linguistic Policy of the Colegio Vasco de Casco Histórico, Antton Kurutxarri and the president of Euskaltzaleen Topagunea, Kike Amonarriz. Bingen Zupiria, Councillor for Culture and Linguistic Policy of the Basque Government, along with Goiatz Urkijo, coordinator of the Basque Country, was also present at the Bilbao event. In addition, the third edition of the festival began in San Sebastian, Pamplona and Vitoria-Gasteiz.
They stress the importance of citizenship in Pamplona: "The Basque is a great collaborative project, but it is you who asked for the bellows to the Basque in towns, valleys, counties and neighborhoods", in the words of Iñaki Sagardoi, coordinator of Euskaraldia in Navarra.
Euskaraldia comes back. Apparently, it will be in the spring of next year. They have already presented it and the truth is that it has surprised me; not Euskaraldia himself, but his motto: We'll do it by moving around.
