Proud! The Transmaribollo platform of the Basque Peoples stems from the need to create coherent and critical political frameworks, and to support and coordinate each other. As they have explained, because of the rise of fascism and the use of pinkwashing, the LGBTI group is continuously under attack, albeit unsuccessfully. So, “Harro! emerges from the need to provide a material response to this situation.”

“Overcoming the radical and anti-capitalist roots of the movement, this insatiable capitalism that we live devours to the most revolutionary, and through pinkwashing the LGTB movement is using to make it progressive,” they have denounced. As an example of this, they have placed BilbaoPride, organized between Ortzadar and the PNV, “which, behind an image of tolerance and openness, promotes a model of society and city that excludes, elitist and capitalist”, gentrifying and precarizing neighborhoods with gay-friendly tourism.

There is also no shortage of international examples: “One of the examples is the genocidal state of Israel. It hides the policy of apartheid against the Palestinian territories through pinkwashing: it is a liberal and gay-friendly tourist destination, which after winning last year's Eurovision contest, while throwing bombs in Gaza, this year has a musical bleaching in primetime."

They have also talked about the rise of fascism: “As has been seen in recent years, capitalism is being a fertile ground for fascism.” At the institutional and political level, as well as at the individual level, the hate crimes being committed have been seen as indicators of this fascist boom and have underlined that they have serious consequences for those at the forefront of the goal, such as the LGBTI collective.

Presentation in Donostia

Although the platform was announced at the Monday’s hearing in Bilbao, the presentation will take place on 15 June at the Guardetxe on Mount Urgull in Donostia. They invite all the Transmaribollo de Euskal Herria to come to the quote.

Currently, the platform consists of the following groups: EHGAM, Hiruki Larroxa Kolektiboa, Denok, Ozen! Intifada Marika, Sare Lesbianista, Proyecto Iris, Euskal Hartzak and Lumagorri, along with other militants.
