The CoR of Gipuzkoa says it has nothing to do with the painting of these ties of the Wind Comb
- Three yellow loops have appeared painted in one of the sculptures of the Comb of the Wind. The City Hall of Donostia-San Sebastian explained that "fortunately" they can be washed "easily".
Yellow ties that have become symbols to demand the freedom of Catalan political prisoners have been painted in one of the principal works of the sculptor Eduardo Chillida. The mayor of the town, Eneko Goia, has condemned the execution of these painted by strangers and has described it as "incomprehensible". They have recently asked UNESCO to make the set of sculptures a World Heritage Site.
The City Hall has informed that the families of Eduardo Chillida and the architect Luis Peña Gantxegi have been contacted to agree to the lifting of the ties, but "fortunately, they seem to be able to remove them easily". Municipal technicians are already working.
The CoR of Gipuzkoa (Committee for the Defence of the Catalan Republic) said that Twitter is outside this event and explained that although it is in favour of all gestures of solidarity with the Catalan process, "this is not a place".

It is not the first time they are painted in the Wind Comb. In 2011, the word "amnesty" was published in one of the sculptures and the Basque Government's Department of Security opened an investigation into it.
The use of these ties has been extended to demand the freedom of imprisoned politicians for organizing the referendum on 1 October 2017 in Catalonia. Thus, other emblematic monuments in Catalonia and Europe have also been placed to echo this claim, which he has described as "singular".
