However, the Right of Navarre is strongly criticising the possible change of skills. This is not the first time that the Spanish Government has announced this change, but so far it has never happened.

Currently, the Foral Police carries 80 per cent of the traffic and the rest of the Civil Guard. The military institute currently has 1,500 civil guards in Navarre, 240 of which are for traffic tasks. The Foral Police estimates that with 150 other police officers he would take care of all the work of the Foral Police. The question is what would happen then with those civil guards and, as Aristi has made clear, the number of civil guards will not decrease in Navarre.

Full support for the Civil Guard

On Tuesday afternoon several Civil Guard organizations met in Pamplona to try to ensure that this armed organization continues to control traffic in Navarra, where about 250 people, according to the News Journal, including representatives of UPN, pp and Citizens. According to this newspaper, they carried Spanish flags and cried out that the lehendakari, Uxue Barkos, did not represent them.

Echoes of Vox in Navarra

The waves of results of the Andalusian elections have also reached Navarre, and in this respect, according to UPN Sergio Sayas, in order to change the current government, no one – in reference to Vox – should be given up, except for the “nationalists and separatists”.
