The opposition has fueled a demonstration against the current president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who joined Caracas on Wednesday. The news came at the end of the event: The leader of the National Assembly and the opposition, Juan Guaidó, has proclaimed the country’s president with the support of thousands of citizens. He asks Maduro to “leave”: “I have taken this step to stop usurpation, create a transitional government and make free elections.”
The week is warm in Venezuela. On Monday, President Nicolas Maduro was attacked outside the Caracas police headquarters and the country's Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino called it a "coup attempt." The situation had already been taken up by the National Police on the same day. For two consecutive days there have been protests in Venezuela, in which the opposition has driven a massive march that has been called for Wednesday. “I assume the executive power,” Guaidó proclaimed.
During these days clashes and arrests are taking place. According to El País, so far more than 16 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the explosion.
“Imperialist” government
Maduro speaks of the sovereignty of the people: “The people can only put and remove the president, and the people have not decided.” He described the attitude of the opposition members as "unfair" and pointed out that it is now up to the Justice to intervene. In any case, he said that "in no case" he will leave office.
Instead of putting the spotlight on Guaidó, he has put it in the United States. The coup, he said, reflects the interests of the United States: “Your imperialist government wants to apply its interests in Venezuela.” It has therefore announced that it will break diplomatic and political relations with the United States and has given it a period of 72 hours to leave its Embassy in Venezuela. “They say I’m a dictator, but I didn’t get educated at the American School, where all the dictators of South American and Caribbean history have been trained,” he addressed the United States.
Most by Guaidó
A few hours after Juan Guaidó self-proclaimed President of Venezuela, President of the United States, Donald Trump, rushed to approve his position. It is followed by most countries on the continent: Canada, Brazil, Paraguay, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Chile and Guatemala.
For its part, those who have defended it have been Bolivia, Cuba and Mexico, which since December last year has had a government of change.

Sortu condemns the attempted coup d’état in Venezuela promoted by imperialism
PNV Member Izaskun Bilbao agreed with the press release issued by the European Union: "Venezuela has opted for democracy on a massive scale and we cannot ignore it: We fully support the National Assembly."
Alberto Garzón (IU) condemned the attitude of Guaidó and Iñaki Anasagasti (PNV) offered him an "invitation" via Twitter to live in Venezuela for four years. Madurena has told him that it is a dictatorship and that in the last four years four million citizens have had to be "exiled".
Anasagasti took part in the afternoon of Wednesday in an event in favour of Guaidó which took place in Bilbao. Popular leader Nicolas Maduro said supporters of Maduro and Nicolás Maduro are "gentle" and "surrounded". Here's the video:

Europe: "Venezuela needs a change"
In the Spanish state, Pablo Casado and Albert Rivera, leaders of the PP and Citizens, respectively, have addressed the president, Pedro Sánchez, to approve Guaido. Former President Felipe González is also heading in the same direction. "Maduro is worse than a dictator, he's a tyrant," he said in the Chain Ser. The President of the European Commission has asked the European Union to approve it.
For his part, the President of the Council of Europe, Polish Donald Tusk, elected the National Assembly presided over by Guaidó: “Unlike Maduro, they have democratic ideas; Venezuela needs a change.” Georgia also said the same thing.
At the moment, Turkey and Russia have been in favour of Maduro.
