The environmental group denounced two years ago by means of a protest action the environmental impact generated by the macro-farm of Caparroso. They criticized the illegal dumping of the company into aquifers and rivers. From a well located in the area of special conservation of the Aragon River, contaminated water was extracted from nitrates and a thousand liters were thrown into a well of the Odieta Valley.
The trial for these events will be held on 23 October at the National Hearing. Greenpeace members have explained that they have denounced the polluting impact of industrial livestock farming, which has been arrested.
The Subai Erakuntza Foundation has shown its full support for the defendants and has underlined the need to denounce the contamination generated by this livestock model. The Foundation has added that the discharges of Caparroso endanger the health of water resources and the people who depend on them. This group has already criticised the decisions taken by the macro-farm.
The update of the Navarra Energy Plan goes unnoticed. The Government of Navarre made this public and, at the end of the period for the submission of claims, no government official has explained to us what their proposals are to the citizens.
