Several workers at the Berantevilla plant are on the ground – one of them hospitalized – infected with coronavirus, as well as suspected cases of quarantined workers.
The factory has been closed since last Tuesday by workers’ protests inside the factory. On Wednesday, Aernnova resumed production in Berantevilla.
In addition, the collective transport undertaking has announced an employment regulation dossier and the prohibition of vehicle sharing has caused problems in the transport of workers: "Instead of limiting risks, Aernnova is going to put workers at greater risk," the Works Council said.
From 31 March
Aernnova Structures’ Business Committee has accused policy makers of not prioritizing citizens’ health, but the sustainability of business. In this sense, they have criticized the "acting irresponsibly and against the general interest" of the collective.
"There will be economic losses, but they will be even greater if we do not know how to overcome this crisis quickly and effectively," they said.
Faced with the impossibility of agreeing a productive quarantine to protect workers, the works council has called for an indefinite strike as of 31 March.
