ELA states in a note that, after eleven months of negotiation, negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement are “blocked” and that employers Aselip and Serbitzu, S.L. will have a new opportunity to “unblock negotiation” by 11 December. Otherwise, the trade unions ELA, LAB, CCO and UGT will call for an indefinite strike from 20 December in the public road cleaning and waste collection sector of Gipuzkoa.
ELA warns that with this negotiation workers expect “to dignify the working conditions”, improving the implementation of the relay contract, ensuring that purchasing power will not be lost, with increases that guarantee the increase of the CPI, adapting the professional categories, applying the EPSV, and making other improvements in the current agreement. To this end, the unions call for the “involvement” of municipalities and communities: “To change the attitude of the employer, we must be active agents since they are responsible for these services.”
