Zelenski calls for direct dialogue with Putin
- Now that the Ukrainian invasion is on the verge of a month, according to Al Jazeera, Ukrainian President Zelenski has asked the Russian President, Putin, for a direct negotiating dialogue to end the war. For his part, Zelenski has reiterated his commitment to ending war and armed conflict. However, Zelenski added that any peace agreement to end the war should be approved in a referendum, particularly on issues relating to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the entry of NATO. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on March 21 that “the Ukrainian flag was raised over the town of Makariv” and Russian forces have been pushed back. Makariv is located 60 kilometres west from Kyiv.
