On the occasion of the anniversary of the Gernika bombing, the Gernika Memory Site platform has organized a comprehensive programme these weeks, as memory is "a way to look at the world", as explained in the presentation. They will take advantage of the initiative to denounce, looking back, the injustices that currently occur, without evading their political importance.
Within the program, among other activities, the play "Often Hurts the Chord" has been offered in the Lizeo Theatre by the students of the Ibarrekolanda Institute of Secondary Education. It's a creation from the poems of the writer Joseba Sarrionandia.
But this Friday is the culminating time to recall the massacre of fascist German aviation 87 years ago with the Franco authorities. As usual, at 15:45 hours a 4-minute initiative will be carried out, mermaids will be restored on the Paseo and at the Astra factory and will be heard throughout the village. This year they have invited Palestinian citizens and Artisans of Peace.
