Itziar Uriarte and Irune Zabaleta, individually, and Irati Lekue, Itziar Hormilla, Nefer Olaizola and Erlantz Mata, by teams, have been the winners of the Batera call: joint cultural projects launched in November last year. According to the organizers, "a new way of developing in Basque the cultural projects of the young people of Vitoria has been launched".
The authors of the three projects have spent a month preparing crowdfunding projects to carry out their ideas. The campaigns have been launched on 20 February on the platform itsulapikoa.eus and will have 40 days to collect the necessary money. They will drive their work with the hashtag #Kultura Batera on the Instagram and Facebook accounts created for it.
Of the three winning projects, two are book creation, development and publishing projects, while the third is the creation of an audiovisual project. They will then have three months to develop the projects flexibly: April, May and June. Finally, on 23 June they will be presented in the Oihaneder room of Oiartzun.
Oihaneder Euskararen Etxea, Laboral Kutxa and Fundación Vital will contribute 2,000 euros to the winners, in addition to prior advice, to help achieve the goals of these young vitorians. The jury was composed of a technician from the Youth, Euskera and Culture services of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz and a head of the Euskararen Etxea, Oihaneder.
Among all the papers presented, the jury selected these three projects, "because of their originality, willingness to collaborate and connection with the environment", as explained by Iñaki Lazkano of Oihaneder.
'Life'
The Biziundua project aims to create a book of stories on different situations related to women, developed in three media: traditional, braille and video engraving in sign language.
In the words of Itziar Uriarte, "this is a collection of inclusive stories that invites you to go further. This project, based on the Basque language and accompanied by a sign language and a braille, aims to bring cultural diversity and human rights closer to our reality. Those who dare to enjoy life stories have to be willing to open their eyes."
'Between ink and graphite: muses'
Between ink and graphite: in the work Musak, Irune Zabaleta will produce a book of illustrated poetry: "I've heard some friends say the day I'd publish them was something I didn't even think about. But I didn't think it was a bad idea as time went by. In the end, we all like to make ourselves feel, feel identified, right? In this way, I would be able to fulfill a dream of childhood: to be a writer and take another step to that two-year work."
'Roots'
Sergio Azkarate, Irati Lekue, Itziar Hormilla, Nefer Olaizola and Erlantz Mata will be responsible for developing the third project, Erroak, in audiovisual format. Documentary on the villages of Álava in which the disaster of several villages is reported.
