Young and living
- Gaztetxe 7 Katu of Bilbao celebrated its 13th anniversary from 27 January to 2 February with a plan for the whole week. A cursed number for some, ugly for others, at least round, but as for any young man reaching 13 is a great achievement, they celebrated it with enthusiasm, as they did all the previous years.
Of course, the programming of a gaztetxe is made by young people and designed for the young, but those of 7 Katu wanted to attract people from the neighborhood and from all of Bilbao on the anniversary, both young and old, and therefore, some old we approached the concerts on Saturday, driven by the program: Amooma, Trikoma and Suaia & Ama Rebel. Young groups, wanting to get on the stage.
In front of the gaztetxe door, on the Solokoetxe stairs, we found a long line, as there was no one else inside. “The anniversary will be a feminist, or not,” we had time to read the great banner from abroad. More and more people wanted to come in, less willing to go out, but we were in five minutes. By then, the Amooma group was already in full swing giving the best of its repertoire.

On the basis of Funk, the singers of Amooma sewed the vindictive words behind each other, sometimes with a calmer rhythm, in most cases with vivid rap rima. They also took the time to sing “Zorionak zuri”. The room is filled, listeners a few centimeters from the musicians (the stage is not very high in 7 Katun), people feel satisfied, as in the big nights, some recording the concert on the phones.
The atmosphere was calm when those of Amooma were over, but the fire soon revived after the appearance of Trikoma on stage. The noise of the trumpets, the youth jumping, and some adults, because we weren't the only elders there, even though we were a remarkable minority. To complete the night, they acted Suaia & Ama Rebel. “The people who dance will never die,” a wall of gaztetxe said.
It was a very nice evening and the young people were the main protagonists: Organizers, audience, musicians, all young people. That the new generations do not know how to spend it as well as the previous ones? What only do they live in the digital world? That the world goes to the devil with them? Yes, 7 Katu is the test against these convictions, there are active young people, youth, youth, committed to society and culture. Due to the strike of 30 January, some of the anniversary events were suspended and will be held shortly, if someone is left wanting more. Moreover, 7 Katu is one of the cultural axes of the Old Town of Bilbao, thanks to the cycle of Three Short Theatres in Lauta, the dynamic Gazte Sortzaileak and many other proposals. For many years, 7 Cats!
Pasa den urriaren 30ean, Portugaleteko Sastraka Gaztetxeko bederatzi lagun auzipetu zituzten. Handik egun batzuetara Portugaleteko kaleak hartu zituzten hainbat lagunek gaztetxearen defentsan. Bi egun geroago, fiskalak karguak kendu zituen.
Isabelle Pargade Hazparneko auzapezak ofizialki eman dizkio Ttattola gaztetxeari lokal berriaren gakoak. Bien arteko negoziaketa luze batzuen ondorio da.
