The copy has reported on what has happened: The City Hall of Vitoria-Gasteiz has fined with 100 euros three people for "damage or deteriorate movable or immovable property for use or public service" to which the Department of Homeland Security charges the minor violation of article 31.13 of the Mordaza Law. Reason: hang the ikurrina of a street in the city.
One of the three convicts spoke to Alea, who explained that the facts date back to 1 April and that they have not taken place. The three people who were hanging the ikurrina in a street in the Parque de Salinillas de Buradón, in the Vitorian district of Zabalgana, at 09:30 in the morning, on a clear and quiet day, were approached by the two patrols of the Municipal Police with the intention of identifying themselves. A neighbour reportedly made an anonymous call to warn the police that the ikurrina was being hanged for unknown reasons.
Surprised by the facts, the identified informed the Municipal Police that they did not know that the placement of the ikurrina could constitute an infringement. "He told us that a badge like this can be offensive and dangerous to pedestrians. We were very surprised to hear it from the police's mouth when it is clear that the Municipal Police itself bears a couple of flags in the uniform," the affected said to Alea.
In addition to hanging the ikurrina, the local police have informed the media that they also wanted to take responsibility for the realization of a painting in the park and in the Basque Country Herria Batera. However, all three have denied this allegation, claiming that the painting had already taken place before.
