Hala Bedi Irratia said on Tuesday morning that the Department of Social Policy and Public Health of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz has requested personal data from the workers who worked the night of New Year's Eve in the hostel 'Aterpe'.
The reason for requesting these data would be to continue the investigation into the events that occurred early on 1 January. On that day, the Pamplona Municipal Police was involved in disturbances with members of the Gaztetxe and images of the facts were disseminated.
The unions ELA, LAB and ESK, which make up the works council, have strongly criticized the attitude of the City Council for “recording and disseminating a video that shows what happened, it has been a witch hunt against the people who worked that night in the hostel in Vitoria”.
The unions have denounced that the management of the Citizen Anti-AIDS Committee of Álava (Sidalava) has made known the names of all the people who were working between 30 December 2018 and 2 January 2019.
They have also warned that they will not accept the use of Aterpe staff to "curb irresponsible and repressive behaviour" on 1 January.
